Welcome to the house of fun...ctional intelligence

About Me

Welcome to my corner of the web. I've dedicated my life to the pursuit of knowledge, both as a learner and an educator within the hallowed halls of tertiary institutions. From the vibrant buzz of university classrooms to the quiet intensity of late-night study sessions, my journey in formal education is a lifelong commitment to understanding the complex tapestry of the world and the diverse individuals who populate it.

My Journey

My path has been anything but ordinary. Diagnosed with leukemia at the  age of 15, I encountered hurdles that tested me in ways I never imagined. The battle left me with profound cerebellum damage, challenging me to learn to walk and talk once again. This period of my life was a crucible, forging a resilience and determination that guide me to this day. Despite the physical toll, my mind remained untouched by the disease, a small mercy in a tough battle. After 13 years of tertiary study, I completed my PhD in psychology in 2017, and have since been working in academia.

Interests and Hobbies

Beyond the academic realm, I'm a person of varied interests and passions. Whether I'm crafting essays, sharing insights into the intricacies of reasoned thought, or simply enjoying the rhythmic dance of words on a page, writing remains a constant source of joy and expression.

A Life of Learning

The challenges I've faced have taught me invaluable lessons about perseverance, the power of the human spirit, and the importance of a supportive community. As I continue on this journey, my goal is to foster an environment of learning and growth, not just for myself, but for those I have the privilege of teaching. In sharing my story, I hope to inspire others to embrace their struggles, celebrate their unique paths, and join me in a lifelong quest for knowledge and understanding.
